After getting your tattoo, you will see the tattoo darken and gather slight liquid underneath the bandage; don’t worry, bleeding and plasma accumulation is normal. After 24 hours, Remove the adhesive that is applied once the tattoo is done.
(Though it’s normal for the tattoo to darken, but if you see a pool or excess of liquid (blood, plasma, sweat, etc) gather under the bandage, please remove the film and continue with the instructions.)
Please do not drink alcohol or exercise while the bandage is on for the best results. You just got really fine lines, take care of them.
If you find the skin becomes irritated or red under the bandage, please remove as soon as possible and continue with the instructions. Some people with eczema or sensitive skin can become irritated or rashy from the bandage.
After removing the bandage, clean the entire tattoo area gently with water and neutral PH soap to remove any discharge.
Apply a small amount of aftercare tattoo healing cream often (Vegan tattoo, Bepanthol or Aquaphor). Repeat washing and hydration three times a day for the next 15 days. Do not let the tattoo dry out and always keep it moisturized.
During at least the first week, please keep exercise to a minimum as sweat pushes ink out of the skin. It’s best not drinking for the first three days of healing. Do not expose the tattoo to long unneccesary periods of humidity or wetness (pool, sauna, long showers) Try to avoid wearing any tight clothing/shoes on the tattoo area. Try and keep the tattoo away from direct sunlight, sand, beach and pool water.
After a few days, the tattoo will peel, it is important not to scratch or tear off the small skin that it detaches for the good healing of the tattoo. Once the tattoo is healed, it is normal for it to be lighter.
Long term aftercare:
Please always use sunscreen when exposing your tattoo to the elements. Always moisturize on a regular basis as overall skincare is just as important. Lacerations, burns, sever sunburns can alter/distort the tattoo as well.
